We have a fantastic opportunity for a Recruitment Assistant to join our supportive and friendly Recruitment team, with a focus on early careers.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build experience in recruitment and HR in a people focused, fast growing environment. You’ll have real exposure to candidates, get involved in coordinating events and assessment centres, and work with stakeholders at all levels, including partners.
You’ll be highly organised and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and a genuine passion for recruitment. You’ll handle enquiries from candidates and colleagues professionally and confidentially, manage competing demands, prioritise key tasks and help coordinate complex diaries. You should feel confident asking questions and escalating where needed and be keen to learn and develop.
In return, you’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team, with full training and ongoing support from both the Senior Graduate Recruitment Manager and the Recruitment Advisor.
This is a permanent, full time role based in our Bristol office, with hybrid working.
The Role
With day to day guidance from the Senior Graduate Recruitment Manager and Recruitment Advisor, and close collaboration with other members of the Recruitment team, you will provide essential administrative and coordination support to help attract, inspire and select talented graduates and early career professionals – including solicitor apprentices.
What you’ll do
You will play an important part in ensuring a smooth, professional and engaging experience for candidates and internal stakeholders hiring managers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing general recruitment administration and team support, including inbox management, diary coordination and document preparation.
- Coordinating interview processes: arranging interviews, issuing confirmations, managing candidate and interviewer logistics, and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Drafting and issuing offer paperwork and associated documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Processing recruitment invoices and candidate expenses.
- Maintaining our Applicant Tracking System, ensuring data is accurate, up to date and compliant.
- Supporting the coordination of our suite of graduate events and schemes, helping to deliver a comprehensive process that showcases Osborne Clarke to candidates.
- Assisting with the organisation and delivery of graduate assessment centres and interviews to secure high calibre candidates.
- Building relationships with core teams across the business.
- Helping to promote OC’s continued involvement in social mobility and D&I initiatives, including brand ambassador and school and university-focussed outreach programmes.
- Helping to prepare reports and collate recruitment data as needed.
- Supporting the Senior Graduate Recruitment Manager and Recruitment Advisor in maintaining relationships and delivering external events.
- Contributing ideas to improve our processes and candidate experience, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
- Supporting the wider Recruitment team on projects and day to day activities as required.
- The role may occasionally require flexible working hours and travel, particularly when attending universities, law fairs or recruitment events and assessment centres. across the UK.

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload with competing demands and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong written skills, with a high standard of spelling and grammar.
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build positive relationships with candidates, colleagues at all levels, universities and external partners.
- A proactive, service focused mindset, always aiming to provide a professional, friendly experience and willing to take responsibility for your own workload.
- The confidence to think on your feet, use good judgement when solving problems and know when to escalate or ask for guidance.
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast paced environment, especially during peak recruitment periods and at events.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office (particularly Outlook, Word and Excel)
