Due to continued growth we have an exciting opportunity for a CMI Assistant to join the Risk & Compliance team. This is a permanent position, based in the Bristol office on a hybrid working pattern with three days in the office.

What you'll do
Reporting to the Deputy CMI Manager, the main purpose of this role is to undertake all tasks associated with the firm's CMI procedures to ensure compliance by the firm with its regulatory obligations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Data review
- Conflicts and advanced conflicts checking and filtering and/or analysis of the results
- Monitoring of engagement letters (if required)
- Client and matter maintenance
- Ad hoc matter opening or risk related processes including internal and volume matter opening
- Assisting with the joiners and leavers processes
- Client Due Diligence research and review (as part of the SwiftStart process)
You may also be required to provide relevant support and training to fee earners within the UK and associated Osborne Clarke international offices, to business services teams and where required to the wider Risk & Compliance team to ensure the efficient operation of the compliance processes. This could include on-boarding lateral hires or in establishing new offices.
To facilitate this you will need to develop and maintain 'internal client' relationships across the organisation to allow for delivery on key objectives. Within this, you'll need to work closely with the Finance team to ensure compliance with the Solicitor's Accounts Rules and other financial requirements.
On occasion you may also be required to take on Any other duties that may be required to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the compliance processes for CMI both domestically and internationally.
What we're looking for
You will have previous experience within an administration or compliance based role, and have a strong eye for detail and a genuine interest in the regulatory industry.
Also required:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make appropriate fact based assessments using good judgement
- Excellent communication skills - able to give clear responses to requests, particularly those which are insufficient to action without further information being provided by the requestor
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills, able to interact with people at all levels and effectively as a team player
- Ability to multi-task, manage and prioritise workloads
- Able to follow, at times complex, instructions and maintain momentum, even with repetitive tasks
- Proficient working with a range of MS Office programmes - in particular, Excel
