Osborne Clarke is seeking an experienced a Head of IT Infrastructure to lead our IT Engineering & Operations teams and ensure the robustness, reliability, security, and recoverability of our IT systems. This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining our IT systems in line with our technology architecture, ensuring they support our business objectives and deliver IT initiatives successfully.
This is a permanent role based in our Bristol or London office offering hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Lead and actively manage the Engineering and Operational team.
- Ensure the team is effective in delivering IT services.
- Develop a high-performing team by enhancing skills and capabilities and actively managing underperformance.
ITS Operations Management:
- Oversee daily IT systems and infrastructure operations.
- Ensure reliability, security, and performance.
- Develop and implement processes to maintain system availability and efficiency.
System Deployment and Maintenance:
- Plan, deploy, and maintain IT systems and platforms.
- Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and recoverable.
Business Alignment:
- Identify opportunities for improved technology platforms.
- Ensure IT operations support business objectives.
Innovation and Emerging Technologies:
- Stay updated on emerging technologies.
- Assess their impact and recommend adoption or integration for innovation and competitive advantage.
IT Governance:
- Establish and enforce IT governance processes, policies, and standards.
- Ensure effective decision-making, risk management, and compliance.
Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and select technology vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships for high-quality products and services.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with senior executives, department heads, and external partners.
- Understand their requirements, gain buy-in, and ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the IT engineering and operations budget.
- Ensure optimal utilisation of resources and cost-effective technology investments.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Establish metrics and performance indicators.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on progress, risks, and opportunities.

Technology:
- Experienced in IT operations management, system deployment, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Process Automation: Understanding of process automation tools and workflow management systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Cyber & Information Security: Experience in implementing security measures.
- Analytics and Reporting: Ability to use analytics tools and reporting platforms to extract insights, track performance metrics, and support data-driven decision-making.
