Role profile

Our People Development team is looking for an experienced Learning & Development professional to support the design and delivery of our firmwide Business Services and PA development offering. This role will shape how our Business Services and PA colleagues build their skills, develop their careers and support the firm’s strategic goals.

Based out of our Bristol or London office, this is a permanent, hybrid role, with a blend of office and homeworking. We are open to flexible and parttime working arrangements and are happy to discuss what might work for you and the team.

Working with the People Development Manager you will be the central point of support for Business Services and PA development, working closely with HR Business Partners (HRBP's), Business Services leaders and the wider People Development team to translate business priorities into a coherent, practical development roadmap.

Key responsibilities

Strategy, needs analysis and portfolio shaping

  • Lead the Business Services learning needs analysis with HRBPs and Business Services leaders; work with the People Development manager to translate business priorities and capability gaps into a clear development roadmap.
  • Work with People Development Managers to curate Business Services career pathways (by OC level) and associated development curriculum covering core skills, technical skills, leadership/management and career progression.
  • Build and maintain an annual training calendar and a rolling three-quarter plan for Business Services and PA development, with clear prioritisation and resource alignment.

Curation, design and delivery

Work with the People Development Manager to:

  • Curate high-quality learning solutions (internal resources, external content, workshops, microlearning, pathways) that are practical, accessible and outcomes-focused.
  • Curate or co-design targeted interventions where gaps exist; select and manage external providers to ensure quality, consistency and value for money.
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery, in collaboration with the People Development Assistant team: scheduling, communications, enrolment, logistics (virtual and in-person), facilitator briefing, materials and post-session follow-up.

Stakeholder engagement and change

  • Support the People Development Manager in their role as primary contact for Business Services leaders and HRBPs; set expectations, agree success measures and provide regular updates.
  • Equip Business Services and PA managers with toolkits to reinforce learning on-the-job; coordinate with HRBPs to embed development in performance and talent processes.
  • Present programme status, outcomes and suggest recommendations to the People Development Manager and HRBPs.
  • Actively collaborate and share knowledge and insight with the wider HR team including our Recruitment team, HRBPs, Responsible Business and the Wellbeing team.

Data, measurement and insight

  • Define success metrics for Business Services development (uptake, completion, application/behavioural change, time-to-competence, internal mobility/promotion readiness, stakeholder satisfaction).
  • Partner with the HR Data Team and PD Advisor (Governance) to build learning data dashboards (e.g., Power BI/Excel) and report insights by function, grade and office; recommend and track improvements.

Governance, compliance and risk

  • Align development to firm policies and governance decisions; maintain accurate records for audit and compliance (including mandatory modules relevant to Business Services).
  • Translate decisions and recommendations from Training and Development Governance Board into workable delivery plans.
  • Co-ordinate supplier onboarding, evaluations and budget tracking for Business Services development

We're looking for

  • Proven experience in Learning & Development, ideally in a complex, professional services or similar environment.
  • Strong programme and stakeholder management skills; confident influencing and challenging at all levels.
  • Skilled in content curation and basic instructional design, with experience shaping practical, blended learning offers.
  • You combine strong people development expertise with a tech enabled, innovative mindset, using digital and AI tools to enhance how we identify needs, design learning and measure impact
  • Clear, structured communicator, able to set expectations, manage stakeholders and request information proactively.
  • Highly organised and detailfocused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver highquality work at pace.
  • Comfortable using data and insight to inform decisions, demonstrate impact and refine programmes.
  • Collaborative team player with a strong stakeholder mindset; keen to support and upskill People Development Assistants and colleagues.
  • Confident in facilitating workshops and delivering learning content where appropriate.
  • Genuine interest in Learning & Development and committed to ongoing personal and professional growth.
