Osborne Clarke are seeking an experienced IT EUC Engineering Manager to join our developing and maturing IT department in our Bristol office.
This key position will play a crucial role in overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of end-user computing environments, ensuring alignment with the company's strategy and architectural plans. The role offers significant autonomy and involvement in international projects, with the opportunity to influence budgetary decisions and build relationships with vendors to explore new product functionalities.
This is a permanent position offering hybrid working.
The role
The IT EUC Engineering Manager will be a key member of the technology team, promoting collaboration, team working, and innovation. This role will involve ensuring that all endpoint devices (such as desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones and AV equipment) are efficiently managed, secure, and optimised for performance.
Other key responsibilities include:
Device Management: Ensuring all endpoint devices are properly configured, maintained, and updated.
Security: Implementing and managing security measures to protect endpoint devices from threats and vulnerabilities.
Performance Optimisation: Monitoring and enhancing the performance of endpoint devices to ensure a smooth user experience.
Policy Enforcement: Developing and enforcing policies related to the use and management of endpoint devices.
Support and Troubleshooting: Providing technical support and troubleshooting for endpoint devices.
Collaboration: Working with other IT teams to integrate endpoint solutions with broader IT infrastructure and services.
Innovation: Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends to continually improve endpoint management practices.
Team Leadership: Inspiring and mentoring Endpoint Engineers to create user-centric solutions, ensuring the team is motivated and supported.
We are looking for
- Proven experience in team leadership within a customer-focused environment.
- Expertise in managing and maintaining end-user devices, both hardware, software and operating systems; Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and Azure Virtual Desktops
- Knowledge of security solutions such as antivirus, anti-malware, encryption, threat detection, and Windows Defender.
- Proficiency with patch management tools and processes.
- Skills in deploying and managing software applications using SCCM, Intune, and Heimdal, as well as remote management tools.
- Understanding of VDI, application virtualisation, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Zscaler).
- Scripting ability (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and cloud storage.
- Understanding of ITIL principles and practices, IT project management, and performance metrics analysis using DEX tools
- Ability to evaluate and procure hardware/software solutions, and create/maintain detailed documentation and reports.
